The Friends of the Leon County Public Library is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization supporting the library’s programs and initiatives. We can only do that with your help.
Since 1954, the Friends of the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library has been dedicated to raising funds for the library system and promoting library programs and activities.
As a volunteer-run nonprofit, we support the library’s mission to provide essential resources, programs, and services to the community through membership, donations, Friendshop sales, and fundraising events.
Friends Board meetings are currently held on the second Wednesday of the month at 6pm, alternately in person at the Main Library and via Zoom. Current programs include Library Care Kits, Traveling Book Club Kit selection, membership fundraising, and of course the twice-a-year Spring and Fall Title Wave Book Sales. All program proceeds and fundraising goes to support the Leon County LeRoy Collins Public Library System.
As board president, I see firsthand the profound impact our library system has on Leon County’s families. The library is a place where children discover the joy of reading, and adults find resources for lifelong learning and personal development. The library is essential to the fabric of our community.
The Friends of the Library is dedicated to supporting this invaluable resource. As a member-supported nonprofit, we help provide the programs, technology, and materials our library system needs to thrive.
