What does my sustaining membership pay for?

Since 1954, the Friends of the Library has been raising funds to support library programs like the Digital Literacy Initiative, the Community Engagement program, and many others. We’ve also helped in the purchase of equipment, books, and the construction and remodel of library branches around Leon County.

We already have so many monthly subscriptions. What’s different about this one?

Your support of the Leon County Public Library makes free community resources available to everyone in Tallahassee. If you replaced all your paid subscriptions with the free resources below, you’d have plenty left over to support the Friends of the Library every month!

  • Read free eBooks using Libby or Hoopla.
  • Stream movies and TV shows on Kanopy.
  • Stay up to date with newspapers and periodicals the the New York Times and Flipster.
